St. Norbert Takes Day Two Lead At Men's Golf Championship

ROCKFORD, Ill. – After two days of action at the 2014 Midwest Conference Men’s Golf Championship it is St. Norbert who overtook Carroll for the lead. The Green Knights shot a second day best 312 to take a one shot lead over Carroll with a two day total of 636 shots. Monmouth is only two shots back after improving 10 shots on day two with a two-day total of 638.

Illinois Col. and Lawrence are tied for fourth place with 672 shots while Grinnell is only a shot back with 673 shots. Knox rounds out the seven scoring teams with a score of 728.

Carroll’s Henry Mulvey overtook the individual lead after shooting a low round of 74 on the second day. His total of 152 is one shot better than Knox’s James Fenner and two shots better than teammate Cody Neu, who had the lead after the first day. Grinnell’s Jon Cohen is alone in fourth with a score of 155 while David Blake (Monmouth), Alex Okray (St. Norbert), and Anton Olsson (Lawrence) all are tied for fifth with scores of 157 through 36 holes.

The championship weekend finishes tomorrow with the third round of action at Aldeen Golf Club.
