GRINNELL, Iowa — The 2019 Midwest Conference (MWC) Football Championship will feature the Monmouth College Scots and the St. Norbert Green Knights on Saturday, November 16 at 12:00 PM. Saturday’s contest will mark the seventh time that the Scots and Green Knights have met for the MWC Football title.

Monmouth (6-2, 4-0 MWC) clinched the MWC South Division title with a 21-20 OT victory over the University of Chicago on November 2. The Scots will serve as hosts for the championship game and will enter the weekend ranked 10th in the NCAA Division III West Region.

The Scots will look to reclaim the MWC Football Championship title after a one-year hiatus. Monmouth last won consecutive titles in 2016 and 2017.

St. Norbert (6-2, 5-0 MWC) clinched the MWC North Division title with a 34-20 win over Lake Forest College last weekend. The Green Knights are the defending MWC Football Champions after disrupting Monmouth’s attempt at a three-peat last season.

The Fighting Scots and the Green Knights faced each other in back in week 3 (September 28) and the Scots came out on top with a 34-14 win on their home field. St. Norbert will look to avenge the early season loss and defend their championship title with a win this Saturday.

Of the last twenty MWC Football Championships, nineteen have either been won or shared by Monmouth or St. Norbert.

The winner of Saturday’s championship game will receive the league’s automatic qualifier into the NCAA Division III Football playoffs.
