Beloit's Maddy Pfortmiller had a career week in the circle leading the Bucs two three wins. In her first game of the week on the mound, Pfortmiller made history breaking the program record with 15 strikeouts, a mark that ranks third in Midwest Conference history and is fifth-best in all of Division III this season. She went the distance allowing three earned runs, the only earned runs she'd give up the rest of the week, to bolster the Bucs' 4-3 win over Lawrence. On Sunday, Pfortmiller pitched a complete game shutout scattering four hits across seven innings of work while striking out two in Beloit's 7-0 win over Knox. In game two of the twinbill, the junior entered the game in relief tossing the last five innings. She allowed just five hits and an unearned run without issuing a walk and striking out three. For the week, the right-hander tallied three wins in three appearances including two complete games, allowing three earned runs and four totals in 19 innings of work for an earned run average of 1.11.
