Bowens finished first in both backstroke events in a dual meet at Carthage College on Saturday. She completed the 100 backstroke in 1:03.01 to win by .45 seconds and touched the wall first in the 200 backstroke in 2:15.33, six seconds ahead of the runner-up. Bowens also had the Foresters in first place after the backstroke portion of the 400 medley relay and swam the fastest second leg in the field for the runner-up 400 freestyle relay.
