Yan continued his incredible collegiate start by posting six victories as the Pioneers defeated Coe College in a dual and then sailed past the field to win the Monmouth College Invitational. Yan was a perfect 3-for-3 against Coe, winning the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:16.94, 400 individual medley in 4:15.72 and swimming on the first-place 400 medley relay team that finished in 3:41.11. At the Monmouth Invite, Yan won the 200-yard individual medley (2:02.07), 500 freestyle (5:00.78) and was a member of the first-place 200 medley relay team (1:42.02).
