Sarah Yochem did not allow the opposition to score as Lawrence recorded a pair of impressive nonconference victories. Yochem made six saves and allowed an own goal in Lawrence's 2-1 road win at Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival UW-Oshkosh on Sept. 14. Yochem followed that with six saves and her first shutout of the season in a 1-0 victory over College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin power Augustana College. Yochem lowered her goals against average on the season to 1.67 and improved her save percentage to .787.
