Kostov led St. Norbert in its season opener at the Wisconsin Showcase against Division I and WIAC competition. Kostov had a second-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley, posting a time of 1:57.76. He added a third-place showing in the 200-yard butterfly (1:58.33) and 200-yard backstroke (1:57.20).
