Hartman recorded her first collegiate shutout Saturday against MWC preseason favorite Lake Forest College. Hartman gave up just two hits and struck out three batters in the 3-0 victory, just Grinnell’s second shutout of the Foresters in program history. Grinnell improved to 6-0 in the MWC, its best start ever in league play.
