Sidelined with an injury all last season, Birdsong made an impressive return to the field with 234 all-purpose yards in Saturday's opener against rival Coe. The junior returned a punt 55 yards for Cornell's lone touchdown of the game. Birdsong totaled 163 yards on seven kickoff returns and had one pass reception for 15 yards.
