Benson helped get Grinnell off to a perfect start with wins over Coe College and Eureka College. Playing all 180 minutes in net, he posted a shutout against Coe while making a save. He recorded six saves against Eureka, including several key stops to preserve the victory. Grinnell is off to a 2-0 start for the first time since 2019.
