Fitzgerald claimed titles in seven events as the Pioneers won the Grinnell Invitational for the 12th year in a row over the weekend. He set four meet records, those coming in the 200-yard individual medley (1:53.53), 400 individual medley (4:06.07), 800 freestyle relay (7:05.39) and 400 medley relay (3:25.41). The 200 IM time ranks second in program history. Fitzgerald’s other victories came in the 200 backstroke (1:50.25), 400 freestyle relay (3:08.74) and 200 medley relay (1:33.11). The medley team’s time is sixth in program history. His times in the 200 backstroke and 200 individual medley are tops in the MWC this season.
