vanWestrienen broke Cornell's 3000-meter record in 8:16.21 at the Wartburg Select. The mark ranks No. 1 in the MWC and No. 15 nationally. VanWestrienen finished runner-up in the race and was less than three seconds shy of Wartburg's facility record.
