vanWestrienen ran the fastest 3000-meter time in NCAA Division III this season at Wartburg's Liz Wuertz Invitational. The sophomore broke meet, facility, and school records with a blazing mark of 8:09.60. vanWestrienen beat the runner-up finisher by more than 33 seconds and his own school record by seven seconds.
