Cooke knocked off the 16th-ranked player in the nation in straight sets at No. 1 singles in the Pioneers’ match with 22nd-ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater to highlight a big week. He defeated Luke Vandonslear by a 6-4, 6-2 score. Cooke also posted two victories in an 8-1 win over Oberlin College, winning 7-6, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and teaming with Leo Esztergomi ’24 to win 8-1 at No. 3 doubles. Grinnell will open MWC play this weekend ranked 27th nationally and a 15-3 record.
