At Central's Dutch Holiday Invite on Friday, Eli Newton won the mile with a time of 4:33.48, just two seconds off his career indoor best. Newton won by 10 seconds and has the second-best time in the MWC this season. He was also part of the Monmouth 4x400m relay team that took second in 3"36.73, the best in the MWC so far this season by seven seconds and just outside the top 50 nationally.
