Closs tossed a pair of shutouts in her two starts this week. For the week, Closs threw 14 innings, allowing seven hits and no runs with 18 strikeouts. On Saturday in her win over Beloit, she recorded a two-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts and followed that with a five-hit shutout with six strikeouts in a win over Lake Forest. Closs is now 7-3 on the season, including a 4-0 slate in Conference action. In her non-league start on Wednesday at 14th-ranked Wash U, she allowed just one run on three hits.
