Smith came up big for Monmouth in a 26-0 blanking of Macalester. The senior defensive back picked off a pair of passes, returning them a total of 23 years and broke up another as Monmouth's defense surrendered just 110 total yards. Both interceptions came at crucial times in the second half and each set up scores. Smith also added three tackles on the day.
