Dan Rothbauer piled up the second-most punts in a Lawrence game with 13 against Monmouth. Rothbauer averaged 40 yards per punt, with an impressive net of 38.9 yards, with a long punt of 50 yards against the Scots. He pinned Monmouth inside its own 20-yard line four times while recording one touchback. Monmouth returned only three Rothbauer punts and averaged just 1.3 yards on those returns. Four other punts were downed, there was one fair catch and three were out of bounds, including two that went out at the Monmouth nine- and 15-yard line. On the season, Rothbauer is averaging 40.7 yards per punt and that leads the Midwest Conference.
