Lake Forest College senior Lily McCarthy had an incredible weekend at Carthage College and has been named the Midwest Conference (MWC) Women’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week.

McCarthy sits atop the list of the best times in the MWC in a pair of events after her performance at the A3 Carthage Classic over the weekend. She was the runner-up in Thursday night's 1,650-yard freestyle and her time of 18:06.06 leads the league by more than 30 seconds. McCarthy placed third in the 500-yard freestyle on Friday in 5:17.41, the best mark in the conference by more than five seconds. Her time of 2:00.60 in Saturday's 200-yard freestyle ranks second in the MWC behind a teammate and her 56.95 in Friday's 100-yard freestyle was good for 17th at the meet and fifth in the league rankings. In addition, McCarthy was part of the Foresters' 400-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relay teams that also rank first in the conference.
