Illinois College sophomore Martin Ambre has been named the Midwest Conference (MWC) Men’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week after he won three events and was the runner-up in another at the IC Winter Quad. 

Ambre won the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.58) and 500-yard freestyle (5:14.63), while helping the 200-yard freestyle relay to a winning time of 1:36.09. He was also the second-place finisher in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing only behind teammate Mike Weisenfelder in 53.02 seconds.  The Blueboys won two of the three dual meet decisions, edging out Knox College and North Central, while falling to Lincoln College.
