Spencer, a junior from Elmhurst, Ill., was chosen as Player of the Week after he hit .500 for the Vikings in four games against four different opponents on a neutral field in Jacksonville, Ill. Batting in the lead-off spot in Lawrence’s lineup, Spencer went 9-for-18 and scored six runs. He also drew a pair of walks to post a .550 on-base percentage. Spencer, who is now hitting .400 on the season, also swiped six bases.
