Sharp, a sophomore pitcher from Aledo, Ill., was sharp in a six-inning relief appearance in Monmouth’s only game of the week, a 10-8 come-from-behind victory over MacMurray College. Sharp entered with an 8-0 deficit in the fourth inning and shut down the Highlander bats. He faced just three hitters over the minimum while surrendering no runs and not allowing a runner past first base. Sharp’s scoreless performance included five strikeouts, one walk and one hit to allow the Scots to rally for their third consecutive win.
