A junior from Tremont, Ill., McDonald was stellar as he made two appearances and picked up a pair of wins. McDonald tossed seven innings of six-hit ball in Monmouth’s 6-1 win over Grinnell, twice working out of two-on, two-out jams. McDonald then worked six innings of a seven-inning win over Lawrence in the Scots’ MWC Crossover finale. McDonald fanned six, including recording the first five outs via strikeouts. For the week, McDonald posted a 0.69 ERA over 13 innings, fanning nine, issuing just three walks and scattering 12 hits while surrendering just one earned run.
