Slager’s three first quarter tackles broke the NCAA DIII record for career tackles of 545 previously held by Luther College’s Kyle McGivney from 2008-11. The senior finished with 18 total stops to give him 561 for his career which currently ranks third among all NCAA divisions. Nine of the linebacker’s tackles were solo as he led a Pioneer defense that held Lake Forest to its second-lowest scoring output of the season (24).
