Helms earned to victories on Saturday at the Illinois-Michigan Quad hosted by Wheaton College. He took top honors in the 1000 freestyle in 10:04.28 and the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:000.74. The freshman’s time is the fastest in the conference by over six seconds. His 200 fly time is a few second slower than his season-best time in the event but was still four seconds faster than the second best time put up by another MWC swimmer this season.
