Zhang won four events, three individual, to lead the Pioneers to their eighth straight Grinnell Invitational title. Individually, Zhang won the 100 freestyle (48.07), 200 individual medley (1:59.17), and 400 IM (4:16.50). All his times are the fastest in the respective events in the conference rankings. Zhang also joined three relays over the weekend with the 800 free relay taking first and the 200 and 400 free relays finishing runner-up.
