Monmouth opened conference play with a win thanks to McDonald’s two-run eight inning pitching performance against Knox. McDonald allowed those two runs on just four hits while striking out 15. Both runs scored in the first inning, after which the senior only allowed a runner past second twice as he held hitters to a .125 average. McDonald has now struck out at least ten batters in four straight starts.
