Fujiwara got her 2019 campaign off to a great start by capturing the individual title and leading Grinnell to the team crown at the Central College Dutch Invitational on Friday. Fujiwara ran the 5-kilometer race in 19 minutes, 52.1 seconds to beat the runner-up in the 55-person field by more than 40 seconds. Fujiwara’s time ranks 30th all-time at Grinnell for a 5K.
