Jake Mazrimas made a splash on opening weekend for the Illinois College men’s basketball team. The freshman had 16 points, 15 rebounds and three blocked shots in a 77-55 road win at Webster University on Friday night. On Saturday against the #7 team in the nation, Mazrimas knocked in 4-of-5 three-pointers to end with 12 points, five rebounds and another three blocked shots in a competitive 85-76 loss to Washington University in St. Louis.
