Beloit first-year forward Sydney Hukin led the Buccaneers to an incredible 3-2 comeback win over Ripon College Saturday. Facing a 2-0 deficit in the second half, Hukin’s forward pressure put her in the perfect place for the Bucs’ first goal of the game. A shot from another Buc was bobbled and bounced forward for the waiting Hukin who slid the ball passed the keeper and into the lower left corner to cut the margin to one with less than 20 minutes to go. The in the 84thminute, Hukin got in behind the Red Hawks back line drawing a foul from the last remaining defender just outside the box. Hukin’s teammate capitalized on the free kick opportunity set up by Hukin to tie the game. Three minutes later Hukin struck again. A corner kick in the 87th minute led to a scramble in front of the box and, like a magnet, the ball found Hukin’s foot to beat the keeper near post for the game-winning goal.
