Eva Laun-Smith led Beloit College at the high-powered Warhawk Classic hosted by UW-Whitewater Saturday afternoon with runner-up finishes and top-20 national marks in two events. Laun-Smith’s leap of 11.51 meters (37-9.25) took silver at the meet and ranks 11th in Division III so far this season. In the 60-meter hurdles, she finished as the runner-up to the individual that set the best time recorded in the nation this season. Laun-Smith crossed the line in 9.03, a mark that ranked 15th in the nation.
