GRINNELL, Iowa – The Midwest Conference (MWC) announces that Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) will join as an affiliate member in men’s and women’s swimming & diving effective with the 2025-26 academic year.
"We are excited to welcome MSOE to the Midwest Conference in the sports of men's and women's swimming and diving," said Executive Director, Heather Benning. "It was clear throughout the membership application process that there is an alignment of values and shared vision for a culminating season experience that provides a platform for student-athletes to display their highest level of performance."
The MWC Board of Directors approved MSOE’s application for affiliate membership - upon recommendation of the Joint Council - at its annual spring meeting. The Joint Council is comprised of league directors of athletics, senior woman administrators, and faculty athletic representatives. With this addition, the MWC will feature nine institutions competing in men’s and women’s swimming & diving, including Beloit College, Grinnell College, Illinois College, Lake Forest College, Lawrence University, Monmouth College, Ripon College, and affiliate member St. Norbert College.
MSOE launched its men’s and women’s swimming & diving programs during the 2023-24 academic year and began competition in 2024-25 as a member of the Liberal Arts Conference.
"In MSOE's short program history, it already has developed competitive relationships with many of our conference schools," shared Benning, "It will be exciting to see the Raiders expand upon those rivalries when they participate in their first Midwest Conference Swimming & Diving Championships next February."
