BELOIT, Wisconsin — Yesterday, Beloit College President Eric Boynton and Beloit College Director of Athletics Dave DeGeorge announced the resignation of Head Football Coach Ted Soensken. Within that announcement, it was made public that Associate Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator
Kyle Langhoff has been named the 31st Head Coach in Beloit Football history.
In their joint statement, President Boynton and DeGeorge expressed their gratitude for Coach Soensken's dedication to Beloit over the past six seasons. "We are grateful for Coach Soensken's dedication and service to our college community for the past six seasons, and we wish him and his family all the best in the future."
They noted that Coach Langhoff's promotion ensures continuity and stability for the football program. In a statement to current players and their parents, Coach Langhoff stated, "Our program will continue to emphasize the importance of being good stewards of both the Beloit College community and the communities around our campus. We expect our players to be excellent students, demonstrating discipline and commitment, and to carry the values of loyalty, toughness, and love in all they do."
A national search has begun to hire a new offensive coordinator.
Langhoff has been a part of the Beloit Football staff since 2019. Langhoff comes to Beloit from MacMurray College, an NCAA Division III program, where he was the defensive coordinator for seven seasons. During that time, Langhoff was also the program's recruiting coordinator and special teams coordinator. He added the title of associate head coach for the last five seasons as part of the Highlander program. In his seven seasons at MacMurray, Langhoff was part of one of the biggest turnarounds in college football, as the Highlanders had won four games in five seasons prior to Langhoff's arrival. The team won just five games during Langhoff's first three seasons before posting a record of 29-10 over the last four campaigns. With the program's turnaround came a myriad of accolades. Langhoff coached a two-time conference Defensive Player of the Year who also garnered All-Region, All-America, and NCAA statistical champion (tackles for a loss and sacks) recognition. Additionally, numerous student-athletes under Langhoff's tutelage earned all-conference athletic and academic honors.
Prior to MacMurray, Langhoff had coaching stints at Briar Cliff University and Central Methodist University. As a student-athlete, Langhoff was a four-year letterwinner on the offensive line at Lake Forest College, where he was a member of the 2002 Midwest Conference Championship team.
He received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Lake Forest in 2003 and a Master of Education from Central Methodist in 2005.
Please join us in congratulating Coach Langhoff! Go Bucs!
