Closs, Nyen Lead Eight MWC Softball Players on NFCA All-Region IX Team

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced its 2025 Division III All-Region teams on May 16, with eight Midwest Conference (MWC) softball players among the 383 student-athletes recognized nationwide.
 
In Region IX, Illinois College pitcher Jordan Closs and Lake Forest College outfielder Emmie Nyen earned First Team honors. The Second Team includes Lawrence University third baseman Zoe Doherty, Lake Forest outfielder Kaia Mismash, and Cornell College outfielder Peyton Souhrada. Lake Forest pitcher Riley Stiles, Grinnell College shortstop Hannah Dykstra, and Illinois College utility/pitcher Taylor Henry were named to the Third Team.
 
The NFCA All-Region distinction honors student-athletes from the Association’s 10 regions, with selections made to one of three teams. Head coaches who are NFCA members nominate and vote for the honorees in their respective regions.
