OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – For the second time in program history, the Ripon women’s basketball team has been ranked in the D3hoops.com poll as the Red Hawks were slotted 24th in the January 12 rankings.
 
The only undefeated team in the Midwest Conference, Ripon ran its win streak to eight games with a pair of MWC victories last week. On January 7, the Red Hawks picked up a 76-40 road win at Monmouth before defeating Illinois College 84-54 on January 10 in Jacksonville. Sophie Schlieve was named the MWC Performer of the Week on Monday after averaging 13 points and nine rebounds in those two contests.
 
Off to its best start to a season since 2002-03, Ripon is ranked 21st in the most recent Women’s Basketball Coaches Association coaches poll, with the next release coming on Tuesday. The Red Hawks’ only other entry into the D3hoops.com poll came during the 2004-05 season (#25).
 
The next D3hoops.com poll will be released on Monday, January 19.
