RIPON, Wisconsin – Following a nationwide search, Madison Schweitzer has been named the next Head Coach of Women’s Volleyball for Ripon College, as announced by Vice President / Director of Athletics Chris Schumacher on Monday.

“Madison is an exceptionally thoughtful leader, whose values, standards, and intentional approach stood out throughout the interview process,” Schumacher said. “She brings a strong combination of conviction and heart, and we are excited about the energy, clarity, and care she will bring to elevate this program and our student-athletes.”

Schweitzer comes to the Red Hawks after serving as head coach for Kenyon College women’s volleyball, where she led the Owls to a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) tournament berth. Prior to her time with Kenyon, Schweitzer served as an assistant coach to the men’s and women’s volleyball programs at Trine University, where she helped the Thunder to tournament berths in conference postseasons for both teams. She has also acted as a graduate assistant coach for women’s volleyball at North Central College, where she helped secure a 4th place College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) finish for the Cardinals.

A graduate of Lakeland University, Schweitzer competed for the Muskies as a setter before serving as an assistant coach for the program. While at Lakeland, Schweitzer was named the 2019 Most Outstanding Student Success and Engagement Advocate, while helping the Muskies win the 2019 Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference (NACC) title.

“I am honored to be the next head coach of the Red Hawks Volleyball program. The potential to elevate this program excites me,” Schweitzer said, “It will be great to be back in Wisconsin where I began my coaching journey. I want to thank Athletic Director Schumacher for this opportunity. Go Red Hawks!”

The Red Hawks concluded 2025 with a 9-19 record overall and a 3-5 record in Midwest Conference (MWC) competition, good for a sixth place conference finish. Schweitzer assumes her role on January 12, and will look to lead Ripon back to the MWC Tournament for the first time since 2017.
