OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – The Midwest Conference (MWC) announced its Performers of the Week award recipients for games played February 9-15, 2026, on Tuesday.
MWC sports information directors nominate student-athletes for the Performer of the Week honor by sport and vote as a committee to select the winners.
For the winter and spring seasons, Performers of the Week will be recognized every week on Monday (basketball, baseball, softball) and Tuesday (swimming and diving, indoor track and field, men’s tennis, outdoor track and field) once their seasons have been triggered (three MWC institutions competing) and will conclude the week prior to the sport-specific Conference tournament/championship.
The Performer of the Week award winners are as follows:
Men’s Indoor Track Performer of the Week
Josh Yearby, Beloit College
For yet another weekend, Josh Yearby was a record-breaker. He continued his dominance in the 60-meter dash, securing first place with a blazing 6.78 seconds. The time sets a new school record as well as a facility record for UW-Platteville. He went on to grab two more first-place finishes. In the 200, he toed the line in 22.25 seconds and anchored the Bucs 4x200 team that finished first with a time of 1:34.47. Yearby sits second in the MWC in the 60 and 200. Nationally, he is 11th in the 60 and 20th in the 200.
Men’s Indoor Field Performer of the Week
Josh Martinez, Beloit College
Martinez etched his name into the Beloit College record books this weekend, breaking the shot put record from 1978. At the UW-Platteville Invite on Saturday, he took 7th with a throw of 15.69 meters. His toss tops the MWC this season.
Women’s Indoor Track Performer of the Week
Mila Westra, Lawrence University
Westra continues to write her name in the Lawrence history books as she broke her own 800-meter run school record this past weekend at the Grand Valley State Big Meet. She finished with a time of 2:14.90, finishing fifth overall in a field loaded with DI and DII talent.
Women’s Indoor Field Performer of the Week
Deja Anderson, Illinois College
Anderson won the long jump with a leap of 5.65 meters at the Roger Haynes Invitational on Saturday. Her jump was her season-best, the top distance in the Midwest Conference to date, and currently ranks 17th nationally.
Men’s Tennis Performer of the Week
Felipe Moraes, Lake Forest College
Moraes was victorious at the top of the doubles and singles lineup as Lake Forest won 5-2 at Oberlin College, a team with a significantly higher UTR ranking (59-56) on Saturday. After the teams split at #2 and #3 doubles, he and Rodrigo Cunha finished off a 7-6 (12-10) triumph at #1 to secure the doubles point. He also came out on top in tiebreaker fashion at #1 singles, prevailing 2-6, 6-3, (10-5). The victory over Oberlin earned the Foresters a split on the day after falling to Case Western Reserve University, the nation's fifth-ranked team, in the morning.
