MWC Nets Five Men's All-American Honors at Indoor Nationals

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – The Midwest Conference was well-represented at the 2026 NCAA Division III Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championships last weekend (March 13-14) at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
 
Five Midwest Conference athletes representing four MWC schools competed in six events: Josh Yearby, Beloit College (60-meter dash), Jacob Bach, Cornell College (Mile), Isaac vanWestrienen, Cornell (3000-meter run & 5000-meter run), Lucas Fadden, Grinnell College (60-meter dash & 200-meter dash) and Melvin Hodge, Illinois College (Weight Throw).
 
vanWestrienen and Fadden both earned multiple first team, All-American honors with a quartet of top eight finishes. vanWestrienen took fifth in the 3K (8:09.38) and seventh in the 5K (14:14.12), while Fadden was seventh in the 60 (6.77) and seventh in the 200 (21.39).
 
Hodge earned second team All-American honors for finishing in the 9-16 range, taking 10th in the weight throw (18.21m).
 
Bach finished 18th in the mile prelims, crossing the tape in 4:16.96, while Yearby took 19th in the 60 prelims (6.93).
