OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – The Midwest Conference (MWC) announced its Performers of the Week award recipients for games played February 23-March 1, 2026, on Monday.
MWC sports information directors nominate student-athletes for the Performer of the Week honor by sport and vote as a committee to select the winners.
For the spring seasons, Performers of the Week will be recognized every week on Monday (baseball, softball) and Tuesday (men’s tennis, outdoor track and field) once their seasons have been triggered (three MWC institutions competing) and will conclude the week prior to the sport-specific Conference tournament/championship.
The Performer of the Week award winners are as follows:
Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Erick Tiegs, Beloit College
Erick Tiegs opened his 2026 season by tossing a 5-inning three-hitter to lead the Buccaneers over Elmhurst on Saturday. He struck out 4 and issued 1 walk, without giving up a run. He faced 21 batters and forced 7 flyouts and 4 groundouts.
Baseball Positional Performer of the Week
Jackson Hill, Cornell College
Hill batted .455 (5-for-11) and slugged .818 with four RBIs during Cornell's 1-2 opening weekend. The senior outfielder went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Cornell's 7-6 walk-off win over Lakeland.
Softball Positional Performer of the Week
Savannah Powers, Monmouth College
Savannah Powers had a great start to the Monmouth season with 9 RBI in her first three games. Powers hit her first career home run in game 1 Saturday, driving in two runs and scoring twice. In game two she had a grand slam and an RBI single to finish 2-4 with two more runs scored and four RBI. In the first game Sunday she drove in three more runs with a double and added a single in game 2. Overall, she was 5--for-17 with three extra base hits, 2 HR, 9 RBI and four runs scored.
