OSHKOSH, Wisconsin -- Lake Forest College Athletic Trainer Mike Gilboe recently received the Midwest Conference Silver Service Award for his 25 years of service to the league.

This award recognizes individuals in qualifying roles—including presidents and chancellors, athletic direct reports, directors of athletics, faculty athletic representatives, senior woman administrators, head coaches, head athletic trainers, sports information directors and conference office staff—who have dedicated 25 years of service to the league. On behalf of the MWC, Gilboe was presented with a conference-branded bleacher seat.

Gilboe took over as the Foresters' athletic trainer in the summer of 2001 and has treated countless student-athletes during his 25-year tenure. He is a member of the National, Great Lakes, and Illinois Athletic Trainers Association and serves as an adjunct professor at the College.

"I can only imagine the number of athletes Mike has helped return to competition after sustaining injuries over the last quarter of a century," commented Lake Forest's Assistant Vice President of Athletics Jim Catanzaro. "I know I speak on behalf of them, as well as our coaches, in expressing gratitude for his dedication to Lake Forest College Athletics." 

A native of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Gilboe earned a Bachelor's degree from Arkansas State University and a Master's from Illinois State University.

2025-26 marks the second year of the MWC Silver Service Award, with 18 awardees recognized in last year's inaugural class.
