Midwest Conference Honors 1,705 Student-Athletes With Academic All-Conference Recognition in 2025-26

GRINNELL, Iowa — The Midwest Conference has announced its 2025-26 Academic All-Conference Team, recognizing 1,705 student-athletes for their success in both academics and athletics over the past academic year.

To earn Academic All-Conference honors, student-athletes must have achieved a minimum 3.33 grade-point average for the academic year, earned a varsity letter in one of the league’s 18 sponsored sports, and competed on a team that completed at least 50 percent of its scheduled contests. Honorees are named each year following the posting of spring term grades.

This year’s group includes 893 student-athletes representing men’s sports and 812 representing women’s sports. A total of 343 student athletes were recognized as multi-sport participants, including 178 in women’s sports and 165 in men’s sports. Among them were 79 two-sport participants in men’s sports, 90 in women’s sports, 85 in three men’s sports, and 88 in three women’s sports. There was also one four-sport participant in men’s sports.

Grinnell College led all institutions with 407 Academic All-Conference selections. That total includes 152 student-athletes in men’s sports and 140 in women’s sports, along with a league-high 74 multi-sport honorees.

Ripon College finished second, totaling 263 selections. Lake Forest College and Illinois College took third and fourth with 252 and 246, respectively. Fifth placed belonged to Lawrence University as the Vikings earned 237 selections.

Cornell College (223), Monmouth College (196), Beloit College (179) and Knox College (109) rounded out the leaderboard.

Affiliate members also had a strong showing. The University of Chicago had 64 football honorees -- the most by any institution in a single sport. St. Norbert College added 28 honorees across men’s and women’s swimming and diving, while Milwaukee School of Engineering compiled 19 across men’s and women’s swimming and diving as well.

By season, fall sports led the way with 861 honorees, with football contributing the highest total at 277. Winter sports had a slight 697 to 665 edge over spring sports. Women’s indoor track and field led all winter sports with 171 honorees, while women’s outdoor track and field topped the spring sports with 169.
