HILBERT, Wisconsin — The United Soccer Coaches released their College Team Academic Award winners on Friday morning for both men’s and women’s soccer.
For a team to be considered for the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, it must have a composite team grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for all team members who appear on the official NCAA, NAIA, NCCAA or junior college roster forms for the respective fall season.
Both the Grinnell College and Ripon College men’s and women’s programs were recognized, while Cornell College was honored on the men’s side.
United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award winners (Team, GPA - Head Coach)
MEN
Cornell College, 3.29 – Head Coach: Nate Grosse (4th career team honor)
Grinnell College, 3.52 – Head Coach: Brian Jaworski (20th career team honor)
Ripon College, 3.25 – Head Coach: Marco Rhein (3rd career team honor)
WOMEN
Grinnell College, 3.56 – Head Coach: Kirsten Koester (18th career team honor)
Ripon College, 3.30 – Head Coach: Jen Finco (2nd career team honor)
The Team Academic Award was created to recognize student athletes’ commitment to excellence in the classroom. To be eligible for the College Team Academic Award, the nominated program must be a current member of United Soccer Coaches College Services.
