Pair of MWC Men's Soccer Programs Crack Region IX Rankings

HILBERT, Wisconsin – Both the Luther College and Grinnell College men’s soccer programs are ranked regionally by the United Soccer Coaches in the September 29 rankings, announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Midwest Conference newcomer Luther (#7) finds itself ranked regionally for the third consecutive week. The Norse went 0-1-1 last week, falling to the nation’s top-ranked team, St. Olaf, by a 3-1 margin on Wednesday. On Saturday in its first-ever Midwest Conference contest, Luther grabbed a point in a 1-1 home draw with Illinois College.
 
Grinnell (#8) is ranked regionally for the first time in 2026. The Pioneers won their first seven contests of the season, including a 2-1 win at Knox College last Tuesday, before falling at home to Ripon College (1-0) on Saturday. Grinnell rebounded with a 1-0 road win at Carleton in non-conference action on Sunday.
 
Grinnell and Luther square off on Wednesday, September 30 in a MWC contest. Kickoff from Grinnell is set for 4 p.m.
