Kelly Ricketts - Outside Hitter - Knox College
Junior - Galesburg, Ill.
Ricketts had 81 kills, or an average of16.2 per match, and a hitting percentage of .278 through the Knox College volleyball team’s first five matches. She played every point of every set of every match, helping the Prairie Fire jump out to a 3-2 record. Knox played four of its five matches last Saturday and Sunday at the Eureka College Tournament, winning three of the four. Ricketts showed her all-around skills by also tallying 45 digs in her team’s first five matches, an average of nine per contest.
September 14
Claire Hermie - Middle Hitter - Monmouth College
Sophomore - Kewanee, Ill.
Claire Hermie paced Monmouth to a 3-1 weekend at the Aurora Invitational. The sophomore middle hitter was nearly unstoppable in the four-game tournament, hitting at a .394 clip. Her dozen kills against Calumet College of St. Joe on Friday keyed a 3-0 sweep. She wrapped up the weekend with a 10 kill performance Saturday in a 3-2 win over North Central College. For the weekend, Hermie recorded 30 kills with just four errors. She also had six service aces and played in all 14 sets at Aurora.

Anna Alvin - Middle Hitter - Ripon College
Senior - Beaver Dam, Wis.
Alvin helped lead the Red Hawks to a 3-2 record last week, leading the team in kills in all five matches. In a five-set victory over Marian University, Alvin recorded 15 kills. She followed that up with performances of 18 and 23 kills in victories over Aurora and Martin Luther at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Invitational. On the final day of the tournament against Wartburg and UW-O, Alvin combined for 24 kills. She also recorded 23 blocks (8 solo) in the five matches, while registering seven service aces and 15 digs.
September 28
Courtney Sweatman - Outside Hitter - Illinois College
Senior - Virginia, Ill.
Sweatman lead the Illinois College Lady Blues to a 3-1 week this past week with two conference wins over MWC foes Grinnell and Knox. Sweatman collected 54 total kills during the week which included a 25 kill performance in a 3-2 win over Grinnell. She finished the week with a 13 kill performance in a 3-0 sweep of Westminster College. Sweatman hit .319 and had 22 digs, 10 blocks, and 8 aces last week.
October 5
Cori Cooper - Outside Hitter - Lake Forest College College
Sophomore - Crystal Lake, Ill.
Cooper recorded three double-doubles in four matches last week. She led the Foresters with 11 kills and added seven digs, two blocks, and an ace in three-set wins over Marian on Wednesday. She then recorded a team-high 11 kills and 13 digs in another three-set win over Illinois College on Friday. The Foresters fell in four sets to Monmouth and Kalamazoo on Saturday, despite Cooper’s 20 kills and 16 digs in the first match and 14 kills and 24 digs in the second. She finished the four-match week with 56 kills, 60 digs, six aces, and five blocks.
October 12
Alyson Schroeter - Outside Hitter - Monmouth College
Senior - Woodruff, Wis.
Schroeter helped the Fighting Scots get off to their best league start is the best in school history. Monmouth’s 6-0 league mark in Midwest Conference play came after three impressive wins last week. The 5-11 outside hitter got progressively better in each game. Schroeter began the stretch with an eight kill performance in a 3-0 win over Knox on Tuesday. She then posted 13 kills with a .429 average in a 3-1 win over Carroll. Schroeter wrapped up the home stand with 13 kills in a 3-1 win over Ripon on Saturday. For the week, Schroeter averaged more than three kills per game with 34 total kills with a .348 percentage.
October 19
Caitlin O’Leary - Setter - Beloit College
Senior - Walworth, Wis.
In a 3-0 week for the Buccaneers, O’Leary had 116 assists, averaging 9.67 per set, to move into second in career assists for Beloit with 3,504. She is just the second Beloit player with 3,500 or more in her career. She also had eight kills, three service aces, 50 digs and five block assists during the week. For the season she is averaging 31.7 assists per match and also has 21 service aces, 226 digs, 32 total blocks, and 40 kills with a .266 kill percentage.
October 26
Clare Bohrer - Middle Hitter - Lawrence University
Junior - Eau Claire, Wis.
Bohrer turned in a great week as Lawrence posted a 2-1 record, including a win over Monmouth, which was undefeated in Midwest Conference play. In a 3-1 victory over Monmouth, Bohrer had 18 kills and hit .389 for the match. Bohrer also had a school-record 12 blocks, breaking the record of 11 set by Kayte Hansen in 1999, three digs and two aces. In a 3-2 victory over Illinois College, Bohrer had 20 kills, three blocks, three digs and a pair of aces. In a 3-0 loss at St. Norbert, Bohrer had 11 kills, five digs and one block. For the week, Bohrer piled up 49 kills, had a .324 hitting percentage, 16 blocks, 11 digs and four aces.
November 2
Claire Reeder - Middle Hitter - Grinnell College
Senior - La Grange Park, Ill.
Reeder, the defending Midwest Conference Performer of the Year, finished off the 2010 regular season in style. In three matches, including a five-set marathon with MWC regular-season champion Monmouth College, Reeder averaged 3.45 kills, 1.27 digs and 0.55 blocks per set. She had 18 kills against Monmouth and an even stronger performance in a three-set victory over Buena Vista University, as she pounded down 13 kills and hit .480.
