Griffin Lentsch - Guard - Grinnell College

Lentsch had one of the hugest days in Pioneer history, as he erupted for an NCAA Division III national record of 89 points in a 145-97 victory over Principia College on Saturday. Lentsch’s scoring output surpassed the previous D-III mark of 77 points set by former Grinnell star Jeff Clement in 1998. The point total is third all-time in all of NCAA, placing only behind the 112-point production by Clarence “Bevo” Francis of Rio Grande in 1954 and the 110-point output by Frank Selvy of Furman, also in 1954. Lentsch finished 27-of-55 from the field, including 15-of-33 from 3-point land. The 15 treys rank ninth best in all of NCAA. He was also an amazing 20-of-22 from the free throw line, with the made number of free throws a Grinnell record. Additionally, Lentsch grabbed four rebounds and had a steal.

Aris Wurtz - Forward - Ripon College
Senior - Waupun, Wis.
Wurtz led Ripon to a pair of wins last week, including an 80-61 victory over Illinois Wesleyan. In that game, Wurtz posted a career-high 39 points, which is the ninth-highest single game point total in school history, while also recording six rebounds. He converted 11-of-18 shots from the field against the Titans, including 2-of-2 from 3-point range, while making all 15 of his free throw attempts. For the week, Wurtz averaged 32 points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal per game, while shooting 56 percent (22-39) from the field, 30 percent (3-10) from 3-point range and 89 percent (17-19) from the free throw line. He also moved into seventh place on Ripon’s all-time scoring list with 1,356 career points.

Travis Clark - Center - Lake Forest College
Senior - Evanston, Ill.
Clark helped Lake Forest win twice over the weekend and remain unbeaten in league play this season. He tied for team-high honors with 14 points and five rebounds and added three assists and a steal in a 72-51 victory over Carroll on Friday. The Foresters edged out Lawrence 66-65 on Saturday and Clark scored 18 points and pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds in the contest. He also dished out five assists and blocked three shots.

Zach Meulemans - Forward - Ripon College
Junior - Brillion, Wis.
Meulemans helped lead Ripon to a 78-72 overtime victory in their only game last week. Muelemans 42 of the 45 minutes, scoring 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting, while also converting 6-of-7 free throws. He added eight rebounds (three offensive) and two assists, as the Red Hawks improved their record to 5-1 (2-1 MWC).

Taylor Koth - Forward - Ripon College
Junior - Cedarburg, Wis.
In his first game back after missing four games due to injury, Koth led Ripon to an 85-66 victory over Monmouth. The junior scored a career-high 36 points on 14-of-20 shooting, while making all eight of his free throws. Koth also pulled down eight rebounds (three offensive) and recorded one steal.

Wurtz helped Ripon win one of their two games at last week’s Land of Magic Classic in Daytona Beach, Fla. He averaged 28.5 points 10.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game, which included a 35-point performance in a 113-92 victory against Mount Aloysius College. Wurtz also shot 60 percent (24-40) from the field, 50 percent (4-8) from 3-point range and 83 percent (5-6) from the free throw line during the week.

Clark averaged 16.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in two victories as the Foresters extended their winning streak to nine games. He scored 16 points and added 13 rebounds in just 24 minutes of a 76-51 triumph over the University of St. Francis on Wednesday. Lake Forest defeated Illinois College 64-46 on Saturday and Clark finished with 17 points, six rebounds, and four assists. He also had a career-high five steals in each game.

Kenny Foster - Guard - Monmouth College

Foster averaged a double-double last weekend as Monmouth split with Carroll and Lawrence. The 6-3 guard poured in 25 points and pulled down 11 defensive rebounds in Friday’s 77-70 win over Carroll. Foster helped keep the Pioneers at bay by hitting all four of his free throws in the final 30 seconds as the Scots logged their first win over the Pioneers since 2006. He scored another 25 points and pulled down 10 boards in Saturday’s narrow 67-63 loss at Lawrence. For the week, Foster averaged 25 points and 10.5 rebounds while going 12-for-12 at the free throw line and shooting 46 percent from the floor, including making 50 percent of his 3-point attempts.

Clark led Lake Forest to a pair of victories at home over the weekend as the Foresters extended their winning streak to a program record-tying 14 games. He tied for game-high honors with 17 points and pulled down a career-high 18 rebounds in Friday night’s 62-54 win over St. Norbert. He then led the team with 20 points and added 13 rebounds and five assists in an 83-75 triumph over Ripon on Saturday. He shot 14-for-23 from the field in the two games combined and finished the weekend with 37 points, 31 rebounds, six assists, three blocked shots, and two steals.

Wurtz led the Red Hawks to a pair of wins last week, averaging 27.5 points, eight rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 49 percent (21-43) from the field, 54 percent (7-13) from 3-point range and 75 percent (6-8) from the free throw line. In a 70-67 win over Beloit, Wurtz scored 30 points, including a 30-footer at the buzzer to win the game. He followed that up with a 25-point, nine-rebound performance in a 68-64 win over St. Norbert, which moved Ripon into third place in the conference standings.

Koth helped Ripon win two of their three games last week, moving the Red Hawks into a tie for third place in the MWC standings. His week was highlighted by a 48-point, 17-rebound performance in a win over Grinnell on Friday, which tied a school record for most points in a single game. For the week, Koth averaged 31.3 points, 11.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game, while posting his 18th and 19th double doubles of his career. He also shot 52 percent (30-58) from the field, 33 percent (1-3) from 3-point range and 85 percent (33-39) from the free throw line.

James Lazarcik - Forward - Beloit College
Sophomore - LaCrescent, Minn.
Lazarcik helped the Pointers to a four-game winning streak by averaging 13.5 points and 14.5 rebounds in two games last week. He also shot 61.9% (13-21) from the field and had five blocked shots. In last Wednesday’s win over St. Norbert he had nine points and a career-high 18 rebounds. In Saturday’s win at Lawrence he scored a team-high 18 points with 11 rebounds, hitting 9-13 shots from the field and making five blocks. For the season he is averaging 11.2 points and 6.6 rebounds per game while shooting 61.6% (101-164) from the field.

Clark closed out the regular season with a pair of double-doubles. He shot 10-for-17 and led all players with 20 points, 15 rebounds, and four assists in the Foresters’ 64-50 victory over Knox on Wednesday. He also 13-for-15 from the floor and earned game-high honors again with 11 rebounds and a season-high 32 points in a 112-101 loss at Grinnell on Saturday. For the week he shot 72 percent from the field and averaged 26 points, 13 rebounds, 2.5 assists, two steals, and one blocked shot per game.
