Kevin Barbrick - Lake Forest College
Freshman - Irvine, Calif.
Barbrick was victorious in eight of nine events over the course of Lake Forest’s first three meets of the season. He prevailed in the 200m-medley relay, the 50m-freestyle (25.10), and the 100m-butterfly (1:00.97) in a season-opening victory over Monmouth on October 29. His 200m-medley relay team won again in a loss to Carthage College on November 5 and he added a victory in the 200m-IM (2:18.69). Finally, in his team’s first-place finish at the Monmouth Invitational on November 12, Barbrick swam a leg on the winning 400-medley relay and added triumphs in the 100-breaststroke (1:02.26) and 100-butterfly (54.39).

Michael Brus - Grinnell College
Sophomore - Davenport, Iowa
Brus had a hand in three victories for Grinnell as the Pioneers defeated Loras College in a dual meet Saturday. He won the 200-yard individual medley and 500 freestyle with times of 2:00.96 and 4:48.11, respectively. Both times are tops in the Midwest Conference. He was also on the first-place 400 freestyle relay team that swam 3:22.36.\

Dylan Gray - Grinnell College
Sophomore - Chico, Calif.
Gray posted wins in the 100- and 200-breaststrokes as Grinnell won its own Pioneer Classic over the weekend. He had times of 1:01.84 and 2:15.35, respectively, in the races. They rank second and third in the league. He also swam on the runner-up 400 medley relay squad.

Josh Dunn - Monmouth College
Senior - Brookfield, Ill.
Dunn swam in four events and picked up wins in all four at last weekend’s dual meet at North Central. Individually, the senior won in back-to-back races, touching first in 55.39 in the 100-yard butterfly and then winning the 100 freestyle in 49.47. Dunn opened the meet swimming a leg in the winning 200 medley relay. He finished the meet with the leadoff leg of the first place 200 freestyle relay as the team clocked a 1:33.50.

Gabe Baginski - Monmouth College
Sophomore - Aurora, Ill.
Baginski accounted for eight wins in eight events last Friday and Saturday as Monmouth won dual meets against Illinois College and Knox. The sophomore won all six of his individual events and both of his relay events also touched first. Swimming on short rest Saturday, Baginksi swam a 1:50.87 to win the 200 freestyle by five seconds. He also touched first in the 200 backstroke in 2:06.15 and won the 500 freestyle in 5:11.36. He swam the leadoff leg of the winning 400 free relay, winning by nearly a full minute in 3:35.84. Friday’s individual wins included the 200 butterfly with a personal best 2:16.69, the 200 back with a time of 2:13.39 and the 200 IM by clocking a 2:10.32. He closed out the meet swimming the leadoff leg of the winning 200 free relay which won by 14 seconds in 1:34.88.

Thomas Lankiewicz - Grinnell College

Lankiewicz had a huge weekend for the Pioneers as they won the team title at the Grinnell College Invitational. He was a part of five event victories, including a win in the 200-yard individual medley (1:59.82). He also swam on four winning relays – 200 freestyle (1:27.75), 400 freestyle (3:13.98), 800 freestyle (7:15.35) and 400 medley (3:38.64). Lankiewicz was also second in the 100 freestyle (48.93), third in the 200 freestyle (1:47.07) and fourth in the 200 backstroke (2:03.40).

Baginski earned first place finishes in three of his four events last weekend against Valparaiso. The sophomore turned in a career-best to win the 1000-yard freestyle. His time of 10:21.03 ranks as the second-fastest time in the conference. He also touched first in the 500 freestyle with a mark off 5:00.40, less than two seconds off his season best. Baginski wrapped up the meet swimming the leadoff leg on the winning 200 freestyle relay. The quartet logged a 1:33.40. He had opened the meet with the leadoff leg of the runner up 200 medley relay which swam a 1:44.93.

Matt Perry - Lake Forest College
Sophomore - Chelsea, Mich.
Perry won both diving events with career-high scores in Saturday’s victory over visiting Illinois Tech. He scored 257.65 points off the 3-meter board and 264.20 in the 1-meter competition. His 3M score is the best in the conference this season and his total off the 1M board was less than 11 points shy of the national meet standard.
