September 9
Ted Serafini, Beloit
Serafini, a junior from Fayetteville, Ark., blocked an extra point and a punt during Beloit's conference season opener this week.

September 16
Pat Gillihan, Lake Forest 
Gillihan, a senior safety from Leawood, Kan., (Blue Valley North H.S.) put Lake Forest ahead by a touchdown just over a minute into the game by picking up a blocked punt and returning it 34 yards for the game’s first score.

September 23
Chris Griffin, St. Norbert 
Griffin, a senior kicker from Oneida, Wis., (Pulaski H.S.) helped St. Norbert defeat Monmouth 38-15 Saturday. Griffin made each of his five extra point attempts and added a 35-yard field goal. He also became the fourth player in team history to reach 200 points in his career.

September 30
B.J. Berlowski, Lawrence
B.J. Berlowski, a senior from Sheboygan Falls, Wis., (Sheboygan Falls HS) helped Lawrence defeat Carroll on Saturday. After the Pioneers scored a fourth-quarter touchdown, the 6’5” defensive end blocked the extra point attempt to preserve the Vikings’ 21-20 lead. After each team reached the end zone again, Carroll was unsuccessful on its two-point conversion attempt to tie the score and the Vikings’ 17-game losing streak was over.

October 7
Joe Masciopinto, St. Norbert
Masciopinto, a senior from Harwood Heights, Ill. (Niles Notre Dame), helped St. Norbert hand Illinois College its first MWC loss of the season Saturday. Masciopinto had a 61-yard kickoff return and two punt returns for a total of 60 yards in the Green Knights’ victory.

October 14
Keith Hanson, Lake Forest
Hanson, a sophomore from Fairfax, Va. (Chantilly HS), made a pair of big plays in Lake Forest’s victory on Saturday at Knox, one in which Hanson blocked the extra point attempt after the Prairie Fire took a 6-0 fourth-quarter lead.

October 21
Addy Silverthorn, St. Norbert
Silverthorn, a junior defensive back from Grafton, Wis., was pressed into service this past Saturday as a placekicker in St. Norbert win over Carroll. In his first collegiate action at kicker, Silverthorn was 9-for-9 on extra-point attempts.

October 28
Adam Fletcher, Carroll
Fletcher, a sophomore wide receiver from Norwalk, Wis. (Brookwood HS), led Carroll to a victory at Lake Forest on Saturday. Fletcher had six punt returns for a 17.5 average, including a 61-yard return for a touchdown in the third quarter that tied the game at seven.

November 4
John Price, Ripon
Price, a senior from Brussels, Wis. (Southern Door HS), did his part in Ripon’s victory at Beloit. Price, who leads the MWC in punting average this season, punted six times for an average of 41.8 yards on Saturday.

Bud Baumgartner, Grinnell
Baumgartner, a freshman kicker from Grinnell, Iowa, helped Grinnell defeat Beloit by scoring the first touchdown of the game when a bad snap on a field goal attempt was picked up by the holder and thrown his way. Despite wearing a cast on one hand, Baumgartner made the five-yard grab.
