Denise Heuser - Guard - St. Norbert
Sr. - Pulaski, Wis.
Heuser was named MVP of the St. Norbert Tip-Off Tournament for the second straight year after posting 37 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the two games. Heuser shot 50 percent from the floor and made all nine of her free throws. St. Norbert topped Dubuque 74-48 and then beat UW-La Crosse 54-35 in the title game, the fewest points allowed by the Green Knights in a non-conference game since 1984.
November 30
Erin Lind - Forward - Ripon College
So. - Ripon, Wis.
Lind led Ripon to a 2-1 record last week, with wins over UW-Oshkosh and Luther College. In the three games combined, Lind averaged 16 points, 6.3 rebounds and one steal per game, while shooting 40 percent (19-47) from the field, 31 percent (4-13) from 3-point range and 75 percent (6-8) from the free throw line. In Ripon’s 66-61 win over UW-Oshkosh, Lind scored 16 of her career-high 23 points in the second half.
December 7
Lisa Nassin - Center - Lake Forest
Sr. - Evergreen Park, Ill.
Nassin helped lead the Foresters to victories over two teams listed above them in the MWC Preseason Coaches Poll. She recorded game highs with 21 points and 12 rebounds and made the winning free throws with 6.8 seconds remaining in a 68-67 triumph over No. 20 St. Norbert on Friday. She then poured in 22 points and pulled down eight boards as Lake Forest erased a 19-point deficit to defeat Carroll 79-75 on Saturday. Nassin shot 18-for-29 (.621) from the field on the weekend.
December 14
Carrie Walberg - Forward - Illinois College
Jr. - Highland, Ill.
Junior Carrie Walberg led Illinois College to a 3 wins this week against Monmouth College (70-65), Millikin University (72-60) and Fontbonne University (74-56). Overall, Walberg posted 38 points averaging 12.6 points per game and shooting 87.5% (14-16) from the free throw line. Walberg also added 24 rebounds, 10 assists, 2 blocks and 5 steals in three games. The wins improve the team’s record to 7-2 for the season and 3-0 in Midwest Conference play.
January 4
Laura Aerts - Guard - Lawrence
Sr. - Kimberly, Wis.
Aerts led Lawrence to its first victory in nearly two years when the Vikings beat the University of Dallas 70-65 back on Dec. 20. Aerts scored 20 points and hit career highs with nine assists and seven steals to go along with three rebounds. Aerts’ two free throws with three seconds left sealed the victory for Lawrence. It was the Vikings’ first win since beating Knox 63-52 on Jan. 19, 2008, a span of 39 games. Aerts also scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds in Lawrence’s 77-63 loss to Rhodes on Dec. 18. In the two games on Lawrence’s trip to Texas, Aerts averaged 19.5 points and shot 70.6 percent (12-17) from the floor. She averaged 4.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 4.0 steals in the two games.
January 11
Tracy Rainey - Guard - Lake Forest
Sr. - Roselle, Ill.
Rainey helped lead Lake Forest to a pair of MWC victories last week. She scored 18 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field as the Foresters escaped Grinnell with a 59-53 victory on Tuesday. She also pulled down nine rebounds and recorded three steals in the game. Rainey then scored 10 points and led the team with 10 rebounds and seven steals in a 73-58 triumph over Knox on Saturday. She averaged 14 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 5 steals per game while shooting 61 percent from the field on the week.
January 18
Zipporah Williams - Forward - Monmouth
Fr. - Chicago, Ill.
Williams scored over 32 percent of Monmouth’s points in the last week and averaged a double-double as the Scots posted a 2-1 week in the Midwest Conference. In an 83-72 win over Knox, she posted her second double-double of the season, scoring a career-high 26 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the floor and 12-of-14 free throws to go with 13 rebounds. Williams then poured in a game-high 20 points in a 60-51 win over Lawrence, just missing another double-double with nine rebounds. She wrapped up the week with another 20 point, nine rebound effort in a 69-59 loss to Carroll. For the week, Williams averaged 22 points and 10.3 rebounds per game while shooting 64 percent from the floor and 87 percent from the line.
January 25
Lisa Nassin - Center - Lake Forest

Nassin helped lead Lake Forest to a pair of victories over the weekend, the first a 75-65 triumph over visiting Ripon in a match-up of teams that entered the contest undefeated in league play. She led all players in that game with 27 points and 10 rebounds. On Saturday the Foresters hosted and defeated Beloit College 74-44 and Nassin registered another double-double with a game-high 16 points and 10 boards. She averaged 21.5 points, 10 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 18-for-24 (75%) from the field and 7-for-9 from the foul line on the weekend.

Justine Boone - Guard - Monmouth
Jr. - Geneseo, Ill.
Boone helped the Fighting Scots maintain a tie for fourth place in the MWC with a pair of wins last week. In a victory over Grinnell the junior guard just missed becoming the first Monmouth woman to record a triple-double. Boone poured in 13 points, dished out 11 assists and pulled down eight rebounds and recorded four steals. Boone followed up with another stellar effort in a win over Knox. She scoreed another 13 points, recorded five asissts and made six steals. For the Week Boone averaged 13 points, 4.5 rebounds, 8.5 assists and five steals per game.
February 8
Janelle Groer - Forward - Carroll
So. - Pewaukee, WI.
Groer played a key role in helping the Carroll University women’s basketball team move into the fourth spot in the Midwest Conference standings with crucial victories over Lake Forest College and Illinois College. Groer produced 18 points, four rebounds, three assists and five steals as the Pioneers stunned the previously once-beaten Foresters 59-58. The 5-foot-9 forward completed the weekend with 19 points and nine rebounds in the 79-71 win over the Lady Blues. She also added three assists, two steals and one block against IC. For the week, Groer averaged 18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.5 steals per game.
February 15
Denise Heuser - Guard - St. Norbert

Heuser helped St. Norbert lock up at least a share of its Midwest Conference-record ninth league title with two wins last week. Heuser pumped in a career-high 24 points in a 76-51 clobbering of previous leader Ripon, going 6-for-10 from the floor (2-for-3 on 3-pointers) and 10-for-12 at the free-throw line. In limited action, Heuser then scored a game-high 14 points in a 68-34 win over Lawrence. For the week, Heuser averaged 19 points, shot 55 percent from the floor and 87.5 percent from the foul line while also averaging 4 rebounds and 2.5 steals.
February 22
Colleen Forrest - Guard - Monmouth
Fr. - Deerfield, Ill.
Needing to win both games last week to stay in the hunt, Forrest had the game of her life against Lake Forest. A school-record-tying seven 3-pointers capped her performance in a 101-96 overtime win over the Foresters. Trailing for all of the second half, Forrest drained a 3-pointer from the top of the key with two defenders draped on her to tie the game and force overtime. She then hit a 3-pointer for Monmouth’s first points of the overtime and ended with a free throw to close out the game. She scored a game- and career-high 26 points, making 7-of-13 shots from beyond the arc. In another must-win situation Saturday, Forrest pumped in another 17 points in a 72-57 win over Grinnell. For the week, the freshman averaged 21.5 points per game and 4.0 rebounds.
