Denise Heuser - Guard - St. Norbert College

Heuser was named MVP of the Associated Financial Group Tip-Off Classic hosted by St. Norbert this past weekend. Heuser had four points and five assists in limited duty in a 73-48 blowout of Northland. She then had 17 points, going 4-for-6 from the floor and 8 of 9 at the free-throw line in 23 minutes in a 76-71 win over UW-Stout for the tournament championship.

Claire Schmidt - Forward - Lake Forest College
Junior - Kankakee, Ill./Bishop McNamara
Schmidt helped lead Lake Forest to a Forester Tip-Off Tournament championship over the weekend. She began by scoring 14 points and adding five rebounds and a pair of steals in the team’s 54-41 victory over North Park University in Friday’s semifinals. Schmidt then scored a careerhigh 25 points and chipped in with seven rebounds, three assists, and two more steals in a 73-71 triumph over Buena Vista University in the championship game.
December 1
Tanesha Hughes - Forward - Monmouth College
Senior - Peoria, Ill./Woodruff
Hughes recorded three double-doubles in the last week and her fourth straight double-double of the season in five games. The 5-foot-10 forward began the week with an 11-point, 10-rebound effort in a 59-55 win at North Park. In the opener of the Fighting Scots own Thanksgiving Tournament, Hughes led a Scots comeback, ripping down 16 rebounds and collecting 18 points as the Scots erased an 18-point halftime deficit before falling to Central 84-76. She then capped the week with her fourth double-double, pouring in 15 points and pulling down 11 rebounds as the Fighting Scots took
third at their own Thanksgiving Tournament with a 73-53 win over Rockford. For the week, Hughes averaged 14.7 ppg, 12.3 rpg and hit 16 of 20 from the foul line.
December 8
Janelle Groer - Forward - Carroll University
Freshman - Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee
Groer averaged 21 points per game in a pair of Midwest Conference wins over Illinois College (81-64) and Lake Forest College (83-79). Groer scored 14 points in the win over the Lady Blues then poured in a careerhigh 28 points in the win over the Foresters. In addition to her scoring totals, Groer had two solid all-around games. She added seven rebounds, two assists and three steals against IC and recorded six rebounds, two assists, seven steals and two blocks against LFC.
December 15
Jessica Shotts - Forward - Grinnell College
Junior - Thornton, Colo./Horizon
Shotts tied a Grinnell College record for 3-point baskets in a game during a 68-64 non-conference loss to Cornell
College. Shotts connected on nine treys, tying the Pioneer mark established by Anna Veit in 2003. Shotts,
who had seven 3-pointers in the first half alone, shot an amazing 60 percent from beyond the arc (9 of 15) while
scoring a career-high 34 points. She also had a team-high six rebounds. Earlier in the week, she recorded nine points in an MWC victory over Knox College.
January 5
Allison Andrews - Guard - Monmouth College
Sophomore - Algonquin, IL / Harry D. Jacobs
Andrews showed no ill effects of nearly a month off in a 69-38 win over Cornell last week. She poured in a game-high 18 points, hitting 8 of 16 shots from the floor. She also pulled down six rebounds, recorded four steals and four blocked shots.
January 12
Mary Parker - Guard - Beloit College
Junior - Kansasville, Wis./Burlington
Parker led Beloit to a 3-0 record on the week and vaulted the Bucs into sole possession of first place in the Midwest Conference. Parker averaged 17.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.7 steals while shooting 64.7 percent (22-34) from the field. Included were back-to-back 20-point games (22 vs. St. Norbert, 21 vs.Rockford) and her first double-double of the season (22 points, 10 rebounds vs. St. Norbert). For the season, Parker is averaging 11.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.9
assists and 2.6 steals while shooting 58.7 percent from the field.
January 19
Tanesha Hughes - Forward - Monmouth College

Hughes had the best weekend of her career as the Fighting Scots beat Lawrence 63-44 on Friday and topped Carroll 86-66 on Saturday. Against Carroll, she recorded her seventh double-double in 13 games. Hughes poured in a game-high 30 points and ripped down 10 rebounds to go along with a team-high five steals. Hughes nearly recorded the Scots first triple double against Lawrence, bringing in 12 rebounds, eight points and eight steals. For the season, Hughes is averaging a double-double with 14.2 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.
January 26
Karen Hoewisch - Forward - Carroll University
Freshman - Hortonville, Wis./Hortonville
Hoewisch averaged 20.0 points per game in three contests last week, all wins for Carroll. She also averaged 4.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.3 steals per contest. Hoewisch shot a combined 24-for-42 from the field (57.1
percent) in victories over UW-Oshkosh (82-64), Knox College (89-58) and Grinnell College (90-74).
February 2
Melissa Gorski - Guard - Monmouth College
Senior - Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove
Gorski helped the Fighting Scots stay in the hunt for a Midwest Conference Tournament berth with a 2-0 week. The senior guard scored a combined 42 points in wins over Grinnell College and Knox College. In Monmouth’s 91-62 win over Grinnell, Gorski poured in 17 points, pulled down eight rebounds and dished out a game-high seven assists. In an 85-55 win over Knox, Gorski exploded for 25 points and grabbed another eight rebounds and handing out a game-high six assists. For the week, Gorski averaged 21 points, eight rebounds, 6.5 assists and two steals.
February 9
Rachel Macon - Center - Illinois College
Sophomore - Carlyle, Ill./Carlyle
Macon helped Illinois College to a 3-0 week and saw the Lady Blues push their winning streak to four games. She averaged 16 points per game while shooting 55 percent from the floor and grabbed 6.3 rebounds per contest. The sophomore center scored 10 points and pulled down seven rebounds in a 75-38 victory over Knox last Tuesday. Macon then scored 16 points and grabbed four boards in a 72-44 win over Lawrence on Friday. She capped off the big week with 22 points and eight rebounds in a 79-75 victory over Carroll on Saturday.
February 16
Christine Brown - Guard - Beloit College
Senior - Ruidoso, N.M./Ruidoso
In the final two games of her home career, Brown averaged 23.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week. Against Carroll
University on Wednesday, Brown had a double-double with a career-high 32 points with 12 rebounds in a 75-56 victory. She was 10-for-14 from the floor and 12-for-15 from the free-throw line. She also became the 13th player in Beloit women’s basketball history to score 1,000 points. Brown also moved into second place on the career rebounding list with 750. Her 32 points were just short of the Beloit game record of 34 by Nancy Habetler back in 1981. Brown also had 15 points and seven rebounds in a 64-57 loss to Ripon College on Saturday.
February 23
Susan Hedrick - Guard - Lake Forest College
Senior - Geneva, Ill./Geneva
Hedrick caught fire from 3-point range and recorded the two highest-scoring games of her career last week. She began
by setting a school record with eight 3-pointers in just nine attempts and scoring a career-high 28 points in Lake Forest’s
77-68 victory over visiting Monmouth on Wednesday. She scored 23 points and shot 7-for-7 from beyond the arc while Lake Forest outscored the Scots 32-12 during the final 10 minutes of the first half. On Saturday the Foresters fell 82-71 at Illinois College despite Hedrick’s 26 points and 5-for-10 shooting from 3-point range. For the week, Hedrick averaged 27 points, shot 19-for-28 from the field, and knocked down 13 of 19 three-pointers.
