Jason Infusino - Carroll College - Senior

Infusino played a major role in helping the Pioneers end their spring break trip in Ft. Myers, Florida on a three-game winning streak. Infusino was 8-of-13 from the plate in the three games, driving in seven runs and scoring eight times. The senior outfielder is batting .567 in 30 at-bats this season, while leading an offense that has averaged over eight runs per contest. With its four wins on the trip, Carroll is already halfway to reaching its overall win total from a year ago.

Brett Yost - St. Norbert College - Senior
RHP - De Pere, Wis./De Pere
Yost twirled a pair of gems during the team’s trip to Tampa, Florida last week, as the senior righty earned two of the squad’s six wins. Yost allowed one run on five hits during a 7-1 victory over McDaniel before limiting Mount Aloysius to one run on nine hits during Thursday’s 20-2 decision. Yost owns a 0.60 ERA this season with one earned run and seven strikeouts in 15.0 innings of action.

Clint Wherley - Illinois College - Junior

Wherley hit .421 (8-19) last week to help the Blueboys post a 5-1 mark, including a 2-0 start in conference action. The junior designated hitter was responsible for the game one win over Knox, as he clubbed a two-run walkoff home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Illinois College a 6-4 victory. The home run was Wherley’s second of the week, as his two-run blast against Eureka on Monday highlighted a four-RBI performance and gave the Blueboys a 6-2 win and a doubleheader sweep. He also added six runs scored and a pair of doubles on the week.

Rick Krajewski - Beloit College - Junior
LHP - Grayslake, Ill./Grayslake
Krajewski picked up two victories last week, earning wins over Rockford and Cornell to improve to 3-1 on the season. During a 9-7 win over Rockford, the junior lefty went 6.1 innings, giving up three earned runs on six hits while striking out two and walking three. Krajewski did not allow a hit and struck out two in five frames against Cornell before giving way to
Chris Welborn, who threw the final two innings of the 2-0 win for a combined one-hitter. Krajewski has thrown 24 innings this season with a 2.25 ERA and a .174 opponents batting average.

Nick Beaman - Ripon College - Freshman
3B - Oshkosh, Wis./Oshkosh North
Beaman paced the Ripon offense during a four-game sweep over Lawrence last week. The freshman third basemen hit a pair of home runs at home during Thursday’s 8-0 series-opening win and came back to hit another homer in the nightcap as Ripon rallied to an 8-3 win. Beaman’s bat remained hot as the series shifted to Lawrence on Saturday, as he hit his fourth home run of the series and finished with six runs scored and five RBI as the Red Hawks rolled to 19-1 and 17-8 victories. For the week, Beaman hit .571 (12-21), with 12 RBI, 10 runs scored, four home runs and two doubles.

Matt Dwyer - Ripon College - Sophomore
LHP - Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton
Dwyer set the tone for Ripon’s four-game sweep of Lawrence last week, as the sophomore lefty earned his second win of the season in the series opener. Dwyer pitched a nine-inning complete game shutout of the Vikings, allowing four hits, while striking out five. The effort dropped Dwyer’s ERA to an MWC-best 0.83 among starting pitchers.

Rashid helped break open the game during the Vikings’ 7-3 non-conference victory at home over Lakeland on Tuesday. Lawrence did not manage a hit in the first three innings against the Muskies, but a seven-run fourth frame was highlighted by the Rashid’s bases loaded, two-out triple that brought home three runs and gave Lawrence a 4-0 lead. The freshman outfielder came around to score when Doug McEneaney drove him in with a single in the next at-bat.

RHP - Maribel, Wis./Denmark
Frelich earned his first victory of the season at home last Tuesday when he took the mound for a completegame seven-inning effort in Lawrence’s 7-3 triumph over Lakeland in non-conference action. The sophomore right-hander allowed three earned runs on seven hits, while walking four and striking out five against the Muskies.

Beaman helped lead Ripon to a 6-0 record last week, including a four-game sweep over MWC North foe Carroll. The freshman continued to swing a hot bat at the plate, as he hit .565 (13-23) with 13 RBI, 18 runs scored and six walks. His 13 hits included three triples and three home runs, upping his league-leading conference home run total to seven. Beaman’s best performance of the week came during a 25-11 win over Carroll on Wednesday, when he went 5-for-6 with five runs scored and six RBI.

Trevin Hillesheim - St. Norbert College - Sophomore
RHP - Escanaba, Mich./Escanaba
Hillesheim picked up two wins last week to up his season record to 5-0, while also becoming the second pitcher in the MWC this season to reach five victories. The right-handed sophomore worked 15 innings in conference wins over Beloit (15-5) and Carroll (10-4), allowing 15 hits with seven walks and 16 strikeouts. Against Carroll on Sunday, Hillesheim threw St. Norbert’s second complete game of the year, scattering 10 hits with two walks and a career-high 10 strikeouts.

Yost extended his season hitting streak to 16 games by hitting safely in all six of the Green Knights’ games last week. The sophomore outfielder hit .391 (9-23) with 11 runs scored and five stolen bases during the week. He also hit four home runs and drove in 12 runs. In the first game of a doubleheader against Lawrence on Sunday, Yost paced the Green Knights to an 11-9 win with three home runs, including a solo shot and a pair of two-run homers. Yost posted a .481 on-base percentage in the six contests.

Trevin Hillesheim - St. Norbert College - Sophomore
RHP - Escanaba, Mich./Escanaba
Hillesheim is the MWC Pitcher of the Week for the second week in a row after spinning another gem. The right-handed sophomore twirled a two-hit shutout against Lawrence on Sunday in a 10-0 Green Knight victory. Hillesheim walked two and struck out seven in the shutout against the Vikings, upping his league-best win total to six and improving to 6-0 overall. Opponents are hitting .234 against him this season.

Tim Salm - Lawrence University - Senior
C - Cleveland, Wis./Sheboygan North
Salm hit .500 (7-for-14) for the week and smacked three homers, including the first grand slam of his career. In a doubleheader sweep of Wisconsin Lutheran, the senior catcher went 3-for-3 in the opener with three runs scored and seven RBI. He hit a pair of homers in that contest, including a three-run blast and a two-run shot. In the nightcap, Salm was 1-for-3, but his one hit was the grand slam. He finished the doubleheader 4-for-6 with four runs scored and 11 RBI. In a doubleheader against Carroll on Sunday, Salm went 3-for-8 with a pair of runs scored. For the week, he posted a 1.214 slugging percentage, as four of his seven hits went for extra bases.

Jordan Ball - Knox College - Freshman
RHP - Cuba, Ill./Cuba
Ball appeared in three of Knox’s four games last week, helping the team to its first MWC South title since 1986. In game one of a doubleheader against Illinois College on Saturday, he threw 6.1 innings with no earned runs allowed, but did not earn a decision in Knox’s 11-8 win. Ball came on in relief against Illinois College in Sunday’s MWC South playoff game, giving up two hits and an unearned run over 2.2 innings as the Prairie Fire held on for a 10-4 win. The right-handed freshman closed his week by earning the save in Knox’s 9-7 MWC South playoff finals win over Monmouth that clinched the divisional title. Ball picked up the save after giving up two hits and one run in throwing 2.1 innings.
